For the security conscious, there is a pre-defined email list within the site that is entirely hashed. Upon registration, the email input creates a hash and is compared to those hashed values. Your email addresses are not in plain text prior to completing registration. Thereafter they are securely in the site database as plain text so that you may be contacted about your account.
